YELLOW

JOLIE'S HAT

Yesterday I was minding my granddaughter. She had found my badminton racquet and decided that the cover would make a great hat. It stills makes me laugh when I see it.

BEAUTIFUL ANGELS

Today was a beautiful misty day with a dewy rain. A perfect day to take photos of a cemetery that is just down the road from me.

PADDY'S PICK JULY - SPICE

I brought this lovely spice tin (it has a clear lid) for Peter after seeing it at a friends house. You can buy them from a Indian shop that sells spices. We keep it beside the stove.

JACKY'S PICK JULY - RED

Yesterday Peter and I went for coffee at one of our favourite coffee shops. The shop is very large and is an upmarket clothing shop with the coffee shop incorporated. Next weekend they are celebrating Bastille Day so they had the red theme going. The barissta saw me taking photo so insisted he take one of us as well.

PHILLIPA'S PICKS FOR JULY - REFLECTION FROM MIRROR

PHILLIPA'S PICKS FOR JULY - BOOKS/BOOKS

These books caught our attention as we were walking back from market. They were in an old villa.

Our local library is a beautiful old library with lovely wooden bookcases.

My favourite types of books that I like to look back over and get inspired.

PHILLIPA'S PICKS FOR JULY - VEGETABLES/VEGETABLES

Today we went to La Cigale Market (cigale means grasshopper in french) and they had the most beautiful looking fresh vegetables.

These are black carrots. Look interesting, not sure what they would taste like.

Do you girls recognise these. They are Jerusalem artichokes. I remember having these to eat as kids and remember how sweet they tasted.

NICE PUMPERNICKEL BREAD RECIPE

Breadmaker Pumpernickel Bread

This is a lovely recipe. Easy to make in breadmaker and nice if you slice the bread thin with an electric knife and store in freezer.

Ingrediants:
1 1/8 cup warm water
1 1/2 tbspn vegetable oil
1/3 cup molasses
1 tbspn caraway seeds
1 1/2 cup bread flour (I use white)
1 cup rye flour
1 cup wholewheat flour
1 1/2 tbspn vital wheat gluten (optional I didn't use)
2 1/2 teas bread machine yeast.

I set mine on no 5 which is rye setting.
ENJOY!

SHARON'S POSTS FOR JULY - BIRDHOUSE

SHARON'S PICKS FOR JULY - ABSTRACT

These photos were taken outside the new Auckland Art Gallery. I couldn't resist adding the dog who was very keen to get in the water. As you can see the water is not deep at all. I like the way the abstract was reflected in the water.
