MISTY MY BEAUTIFUL GIRL

Just recently I had a sports injury which has kept me at home more and on the computer more. I injured my finger so have not been able to do much. Misty has enjoyed my company sitting next to me or on my lap. This was a magical shot of her looking up at me when I was on the computer.

JACKY'S PICK FOR SEPTEMBER - VEGETABLE GARDEN

I couldn't find a vegetable garden so have taken photos of the vege garden at our local garden centre.

JACKY'S PICK SEPTEMBER - BUDGET MEAL

Our groceries have been a bit small lately so today had to find something to cook for tea with what I had in the cupboards. So I had five chicken breasts which I added an onion and sweet potatoe.

I had a tin of pasta sauce so I added that and put some crushed dried garlic.

So that was all I added. I thickened it with some Cornflour and had with rice.

JACKY'S PICK FOR SEPTEMBER - PURPLE

We went to the Auckland Domain today and just loved this flower and seeing it was purple wanted to add it. Notice the lovely hot pink on the edges. I think this flower is an echium, you sisters will probably know.

PHILLIPA'S PICKS FOR SEPTEMBER - COFFEE

I had to add this post. The coffee shop was closed but it is the smallest little coffee shop I have. This was the full size of the coffee shop minus the sign that would go outside when opened. I liked the old photos on the wall. I see from the sign they sold some food as well. Very Compact.

PHILLIPA'S PICKS FOR SEPTEMBER - HORSE RELATED

This photo was taken today at the races and because it wasn't a horse I didn't post it. However on speaking to Sharon she said post it anyway. I would also like to add that it wasn't me who took the photo but Peter and thought he did an excellent job.

OLD ARCHERY SHED

This old archery shed is in Cornwall Park. I thought I would share it with you girls because this is where mum and dad used to frequent when they came to Cornwall Park. I have photos of mum and dad outside this place.

JACKY'S PICK AUGUST - ANOTHER INSPIRING GARDEN LANDSCAPE

When my friend and I were out walking I came across this beautiful garden and wanted to add it to your last month's pick sis.

PHILLIPA'S PICKS FOR SEPTEMBER - COFFEE

I like this coffee shop. It has an industrial feel and they have added contrast by hanging a beautiful chandelier, nice.

PHILLIPA'S PICKS FOR SEPTEMBER - GRASS

This is our back lawn and before Peter mowed it I couldn't resist taking photos of the beautiful flowers inbetween the grass. Don't you love our old mower. It does the trick but very heavy.

PHILLIPA'S PICKS FOR SEPTEMBER - HORSE

Today we went to the Ellerslie Great Northern Steeplechase races. I wanted to get photos of horses for Phillipa's blog and purple for Jacky's. Was fortunate to get both. I particularly like gray horses and this fella just posed beautifully for me.

After the horses have raced they get washed down. I like to get shots there as the water glistens on their body.

This one shows of the veins in the front.

I love the bold colors on the jockeys.

PHILLIPA'S PICKS FOR SEPTEMBER - BLOSSOMS

Our beautiful native Kowhai tree.

Star Magnolia.

This lovely tree lined street was all out in flower.

This pretty blossom was growing on a bush rather than a tree.

SHARON'S PICKS FOR SEPTEMBER - MORE OF HOMEMADE

CHOCOLATE CHIP YOGHURT COOKIES YUMMO!

1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup nonfat yoghurt
1 1/2 teas vanilla
1 3/4 cup flour
1/2 teas salt
1 cup choc chips

Add ingrediants and bake 8-12 minutes 375.
PS - I added a bit of coconut.

I cheated on this recipe and brought ready to make breadmaker recipe. It was a Sourdough so thought will give it a go. If you look closely at this loaf you can see an image of a dog, let me know if you see it or am I losing it, ha ha.

PADDY'S PICKS FOR SEPTEMBER - OLD & WETHERED

I loved this old saddle that was sitting on the door of an old shed. I would say it's a long time since this saddle has been used.

This is the same photo but I changed it to antique on apps and thought it look nice as well.

PADDY'S PICKS FOR SEPTEMBER - CLOSE UP OF BIRD

I liked the colors of this little bird and he was so friendly. We were outside having an icecream and sitting at a bbq table and he didn't seem worried about us.

This cute little bird was very pretty. Unfortunately this was as close to him as I could get. You girls might know what type of bird he is.

PADDY'S PICKS FOR SEPTEMBER - WHEELS

This photo looks as if it could be taken somewhere in Europe with the beautiful stone backdrop but was actually taken in Queenstown.
