PROTEST FOR INDEPENDENCE

We were sitting outside Starbucks when we saw these ladies with their flag. When the lights changed they would rush out into the middle of the road and hold their flag up. On 1st Dec every year around the world people protest for justice supporting freedom of independence for Western Papua which is under unlawful Indonesian governance.

MY SUCCULENT CACTUS COLLECTION

In the corner of my garden I have two nice french looking shelves. I did try to grow little buxus trees but it was too hot so thought it would make an ideal spot for my succulents and cacti as they like the heat.

Peter and I stumbled across a nursery specialising in cacti and succulents and brought these plants. I love the color and the texture of this one.

I didn't think I would like cacti but just lately have grown to like them. This one has a beautiful pattern on it.

Sharon this is the Gardenia we brought with your money to remind us of your visit. Couldn't get a bigger one and haven't potted yet. Thanks sis.

This was the succulent Peter and I liked the most. We brought one for our friend Viv for a xmas present.

MERRY XMAS

Today was decorating the house for xmas day. Jacky I was impressed with your decorations last year and was inspired to do less but with more impact. I was happy with my sideboard. What do you guys think.

On my xmas tree I chose only the decorations that I really loved and mainly in the silver and white theme.

I decided to bring my madonnas downstairs and add to the xmas theme.

My little angel on this tree is from Harrods, one of the few things I could afford.

MAGIC MUSHROOMS

I looked in my garden today and hidden under my green veges was this lovely grey mushroom with long white stems. It was quite hard to photograph as there was a lot of plants around.

Love the detail of the mushroom.

I found this lovely old remnant of a typewriter in an op shop today and loved it as a piece to go beside my other typewriter.

CLEVER ARTWORK

We went to the Takapuna markets today. I brought some lovely cacti which will show you later. This artist struck me as a very talented, clever and a great source of recycled materials.

MY FAVORITE FLOWER

I came home yesterday to find this beautiful bunch of Peonies Peter brought for me.

ANZAC

Taken in Devonport. I like the way they have put the crosses in front of the Pohutakawa trees and the beach.

It was more interesting when they had the photos on the cross.

COUSINS MEETING FOR THE FIRST TIME

Yesterday Cassandra, Jolie, myself met up with Katie and Olivia. This was the first time Cassandra and Jolie had met Olivia.

MY LITTLE SNOWBALL TREE

This little snowball tree is in a pot. When I brought it all the roots were showing so pleased to see it has come away.

MY LITTLE WATERING CAN

November is a great time of the year. Xmas is coming up and there are a lot of fairs on. I brought this very cute watering can. Even got some writing on it. It is only little, about half the size of a normal one. Great for my granddaughter to use.

SKULL

We have friends who have a farm overlooking the beautiful Rotorua Lake. I was telling her I like skulls and she said she had one that her son had given her. We are not sure what it is. It is about a finger in length and has tiny teeth. I thought it is a bird but do birds have teeth or do they use there beak for eating. Any suggestions. Love the detail in it.

To the left is a hornets nest. We get them in the summertime.

MY NEW BUDDHA

On our way to Gisborne we stopped in at Tirau. Tirau is a popular destination for visitors as they have lots of handcrafts and gifts. I loved the aged look of this buddha and he now sits on my coffee table.
