PADDY'S PICKS FOR JULY - OUT AND ABOUT

Yesterday we went for a walk at Cornwall Park. There were two ladies walking in front of us and they stopped and looked up into this big tree. Lo and behold there was this opposum fast asleep in the tree. This is the first time I have seen one asleep during the day. We would not have noticed it if the girls before us saw it. This will give you girls an idea of my pick for July. Just take photos when you are out and about and see photo opportunity. As Phil would say go forth and shoot.

PADDY'S PICKS FOR JUNE - MARKET BUZZ

It has taken me nearly an hour to download this post as our students have used up our internet and they put it in dial up mode. These photos were taken at the La Cigale market.

DANIEL

Today my neighbour was minding little Daniel and asked me if I would like to take some photos of him. I thought it was a good opportunity to practice my portrait skills. It was a little difficult because there was a lot of stuff everywhere so had to crop quite closely. He was very easy to photograph as he was a really smiley little boy. Interesting here to is his hair looks red but it is actually a light brown, must be the lighting. I loved his big eyes.

JACKY'S PICKS FOR JUNE - ROUND

All taken at the Mystery Creek farmers field day.

MYSTERY CREEK FARMERS FIELD DAY

Today Peter and I headed off towards Hamilton to see the farmers field day. The morning started pouring with rain but by the time we got there it had cleared. These four people were shining people's shoes.

I am quite fascinated with skulls at the moment and thought this one was beautiful.

This little boy caught my eye with his red hair and matching sweat shirt. He was watching the big tractors.

Here's another little boy with his swandry jacket on.

SHARON'S PICKS FOR JUNE - BIRD

Today Cassandra Jolie and I went downtown Auckland and found this neat vintage shop with of course the magpie. I thought he was lovely and loved the way the shop was decorated so here are some photos of the shop.

Notice he has what looks like a ring in his beak.

I love the wall surfaces. Would love to have that in a home.

Notice the very vintage wallpaper by the changing rooms.

Remember these seats. They look as though they have come out of a theatre.

PADDY'S PICKS FOR JUNE - LAZY WEEKENDS

PADDY'S PICKS FOR JUNE - WINTER

SHARON'S PICKS FOR JUNE - BIRD

We don't have the beautiful birds in New Zealand that you get in Australia so had to get a bit more creative in my shots. I liked the way the bird was gray and so was the seating he was walking on.

These seagulls are pretty well fed and used to humans here so can get quite close to them.

PADDY'S PICKS FOR JUNE = BLURRED

Today we went to Mission Bay, a very popular place in Auckland and good place to look for photo shots. We had a lovely decadent Caramel Macchiato. After that we went home only to find when I got home that I had left my bag there with my new phone, wallet etc. Fortunately the staff had found it so we had to go all the way back to get it but was very relieved to get it.
