I think it was the same setting as the other bird shot below. It was taken in the shade too which may have made it darker.
Did you crop this or did you use your zoom, I love how the detail in his feathers show up
I zoomed in with photo. It hasn't been altered anyway. He was quite close to me though. You can see how the sun has picked up some of the details.
