CABOOLTURE MARKETS

Today my sister (whom I am visiting in Brisbane), Bill and I went to the Caboolture markets. I have to say this is the longest dreadlocks I have ever seen.

MY FAVORITE SHOTS OF THE DAY

I have taken photo's of this little angel before but imagine my surprise when I saw this beautiful cobweb attached to her.

I set my camera to black and white and liked that as well. It shows up the cobweb more clearer.

CEMETERY IN THE MIST

I love going to this cemetery and it's just down the road. This is the first time I have managed to get the mist.

Love the Camelias in the hedge in the foreground.

This is one of my favorite photos of the day.

CORNWALL PARK IN THE MIST

It's quite tricky getting photos of Cornwall Park in the mist. I can leave home in thick fog and by the time I get to the park there is not a lot around. But this time managed to get some shots.

The mist in the background has made the daffodils stand out a bit more.

When I got to this fella the sun was coming through which showed his handsome feathers.

MISSION BAY

I like this photo. It's as if the dog is saying the water's too cold for me, I'm out of here.

Sometimes on sunny days you have to wait to get home to see how your shots come out. I liked the way you could see the dogs wet coat and the detail of the sand.

This is the brother of the previous dog. The owners said he will bury for hours and the beach saves him digging up there back yard. The other one was happy smooching up to his owner. Actually not sure if they are brothers but from the same people who own them.

I liked the way the sun reflected on water and rocks.

We were sitting outside Starbucks having coffee and these two Asian boys nearby were very heavily smoking. At first I thought don't get too close to us we don't want to smell the smoke, and then I thought the smoke would make good shots. Don't know what you girls think but I was very happy with these next shots of smoke.

CORNWALL PARK

Peter had today off so I wanted to go to Cornwall Park to take photos of the daffodils and lambs before the weekend when there is so many people. Because of the lighting (it was about three o'clock) there was a lot of shadows around. The mums with their newborn lambs were hard to get close to.

As we were leaving the park and were waiting for the lights I happened to get this shot which wasn't planned but I thought came out well. Sometimes its the shots you don't expect to get come out best.

Wednesday 21 August 2013

Now that we have decided to take photos randomly rather than picking subjects I thought I would share some photos I took in the last couple of weeks. This photo was taken in Cornwall Park. There is a Kauri forest and the ground was covered with dead kauri branches. Someone had put an old stool there and liked the way the colors were the same.

Jolie, Cassandra and Tony were staying with us a couple of weeks ago and got these nice shots of Jolie with a tiny little birds nest I found.

I wish I could look this cute in my PJs and tutu.

PADDY'S PICK FOR AUGUST - BARRISTA

On Tuesdays and Thursdays before I play badminton I go to a local cafe for coffee. This is the barrista that makes a nice Soya Latte for me.
My friend took this photo of me after I had my Cat Scan. As you can see I am looking very relieved that it was all over.

On Tuesday my friend Viv and I went to this cafe after my Cat Scan. I was very nervous about it and it only took two minutes as opposed to forty minutes if you have a MRI scan.

PHIL'S PICK FOR AUGUST - SOMETHING I MADE

This is a Health Loaf that I made from the Edmonds Cook Book. For viewers who are not from New Zealand this is a cookbook my sisters and myself, and mothers and grandmothers grew up with. My partner doesn't like nuts unfortunately so I put in sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, cranberries, coconut, and dates. So I had to put in more liquid because one of the earlier recipes came out very dry.

DEEP IN THOUGHT

My friend and I were in Country Road today and spotted these two children engrossed in what looked like a game. The mothers were busy chatting so took the opportunity to snap them.
