ANZAC DAY

These photos were taken when we were holidaying near Whangarei a few weeks ago. These photos were taken right behind the main shopping area of Whangarei. I like how some people had put photos on the crosses of their loved ones who had fought in the war. My father fought in the war in Egypt and my mother worked in an ammunition factory in Wellington.

PADDY'S PICK APRIL - AUTUMN

These beautiful autumn colors were taken in a courtyard in the city. I love the mixture of red and green in the leaves. I had to use my daughter's Iphone as I didn't have my camera with me. I thought they came out quite clear for a phone photo.

I finally managed to find a photo of a stranger with shoes on and we saw these shoes at the Pukekohe races. Love the color.

This very cute little horse was in the stables with the racehorses. Apparently they are brought in to settle the other horses.

These last two photos are my favourite. The horse had just won his race and this elderly man was giving him a pat. I love how the horse has his eyes closed.

I am so grateful for my great camera. I have had it for about fourteen months and about six weeks ago I brought a travel lens which basically is one lens you put on your camera that does closeup and long distance so you don't have to keep changing your lens.

NATURE

Today was a nice day to go for a walk, pick up books from library and have a coffee at our favorite cafe. On our way home I spotted these lovely seed pods (I think that is what they are) and thought they would look lovely as an arrangement at home. They are sitting happily on kitchen bench.

The last thing I bought was some knitting wool to make my granddaughter some lovely little knitted dresses. I have made one in gray and am going to mix up some colors.

I am not normally a drawer so had to think what I could post with my drawing on. This was the back of a letter that I had sent to my partner when I was visiting France.

WHITE ROSE FROM LUBA

Last week was my birthday and Luba our homestay student very kindly gave me a gift as well as a bunch of beautiful white roses (she knows white is my favourite colour). I noticed that the roses have reached their peak so I took this photo to remind me of the beautiful roses. I took the photo in front of a net curtain to get the soft look.

This post is a shout out to my two oldest sisters who are both going through some challenging times. My sister on the left has a son who is being treated for cancer. My sister on the right has a partner who has been in hospital for quite a few weeks and she is up in the air as to what he will need doing and when he will come home. So this blog is from your two other sisters to say that our thoughts and prayers are with you.
