FENG SHUI MY LOUNGE

Yesterday I decided to spring clean my lounge. I wanted to put away the little bits and pieces and have a select few. I also wanted to incorporate some natural products I like. I have put some pinecones (left) and birdsnest (right).

On the left is my old camera collection.

I put away some of the frames to emphasize the frames that were there.

The urn in the background has a very shallow base which makes it hard to grow something in. So I brought an artificial topiary and it was quite realistic.

Today we were going op-shopping and came across this place where they were selling beautiful topiaries. We brought the beautiful one on the left of the picture for $65 which compared to garden centres, very realistic and better qualities. This is an Australian rosemary. It is not edible like ours but it comes out with tiny little white flowers.

PHILLIPA'S PICK FOR FEBRUARY - CURLS

Yesterday Peter and I went up to Whangaparaoa to visit Jolie, Cass and Tony. I was able to photograph her curls which are getting quite long. This morning we went to see her do ballet and was able to take more photos and got some good shots of Tony and Jolie which I was quite pleased as he doesn't normally like his photo taken.

PHILLIPA'S PICK FOR FEBRUARY - SOMETHING YOU LOVE

The garden on the right where the little fat buddha is, has in the last few days been transformed into a vegetable garden. Am hoping it will survive because it is quite hot here.  So far the beetroot is the only thing drooping.

PADDY'S PICK FOR FEBRUARY - BIRDS

We went to the Avondale markets and saw all these seagulls lined up on the fence. A man came up to us and explained that one of the stallholders feed these birds every Sunday so they know to come and wait for her. I took these two photos with my new close-up lens. Which photo do you like best.

PADDY'S PICKS FOR FEBRUARY - EXOTIC VEGETABLES

Also at the markets were all these exotic vegetables. It was difficult to know what they were because the stallholders couldn't speak English. This photo and photo number five I think might be bitter melon.

This is a mushroom of some sort.

Bamboo shoots.

PADDY'S PICKS FOR FEBRUARY - SWING

This photo of the swing was taken at Peter's sister's place in Te Horo. The hills in the distance are the Tarauruo Hills. In the winter they are covered in snow.

PADDY'S PICKS FOR FEBRUARY - BLACK

I know you will love this photo Phil of this beautiful black labrador smelling the daisies. He lives at the Lavender farm we went to.

SHARON'S PICKS FOR FEBRUARY - FRIENDS

These boys were watching a karate exhibition. The two boys on the right could be brothers but two to the left could be friends.

SHARON'S PICKS FOR FEBRUARY - MALE

We were at our favourite park yesterday, Cornwall Park and I spotted this man watching the cricket. As you can see the ground is very dry, especially for   New Zealand.
