QUOTE OF THE DAY

WHERE I RELAX

This is where I like to relax with a cup of Red Bush Spice tea and a book. I love how my lounge looks straight out to my garden. It is beautiful light here as well and even if it is raining it is nice to sit and look at the rain.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

I came across a beautiful site that has brilliant quotes. I thought it would be a nice idea to post a blog a day to share with whoever happens to look at my blog.

MARCH 29 - TOY

This is my granddaughter and one of her favorite little dolls. She loves little toys. I think it is because it easy for her to carry around. This photo was created in Piknik.

CHANGE OF COLOR

Today after playing netball two of the netball girls and myself got together for a coffee and after that we went op-shopping, one of my favorite pastimes. Most people who know me know that I wear a lot of black, white and gray. Everytime I try to wear color I find it difficult to match up with other colors. So today I spotted this very comfortable pretty blue dress which I brought for $5. I liked it because it was a dress and didn't have to match it up with anything. So this is an attempt at color. I also brought some flat red shoes which will give my wardrobe a bit of a pop. So what do you reckon guys did I do well? It was having a good time bringing home things to add to your wardrobe for only a few dollars and doing my bit to save the environment.

CHAOS

I had trouble finding a photo of chaos so I chose a photo of when we were in Vietnam. We were walking back to our hotel and this was what the traffic was like at peak time. There were so many motorbikes everywhere. They park on the pavement so the pedestrians have to walk out onto the road to get past them. And the noise and pollution. You see families on these bikes and they are breathing in all the fumes. And to get across the road you have to just bite the bullet and go and the motorbikes weave around you. Rather scary but it is worse if you hesitate because the bikes have to dodge to miss you so better to keep walking and watching the traffic at the same time.

SELVEDGE MAGAZINE

Yesterday when I went to the Auckland library I came across this beautiful magazine full of ideas to do with fabrics, textiles, fashion, fine art, interiors, travel and shopping. I think it is an English magazine but if you are interested in getting the magazine go to www.selvedge.org for the details. I took some photos from the magazine to show viewers what a fabulous magazine it is. In this section I loved the clothing and props that they used.

AUTUMN LEAVES

My partner and I went into Auckland city and as we were walking back to our car we saw the autumn leaves on the ground. Peter picked up some leaves and let them drop as I photographed them. There was a lot of reflection and light as I was taking the picture so was unaware there was a man playing a guitar in the background. An added bonus as his guitar was the same colours as the leaves.

MARCH 25 - BREAKFAST

Breakfast in the weekends are the best. We have the cooked breakfast and if it is a nice day we have it outside. The weather is getting a bit cooler so today we had it inside.

BEAUTIFUL VIDEOS

I came across these two videos on U Tube. As well as loving the songs I particularly loved the scenes, the horses and beautiful settings. I hope you enjoy as much as I did. What a nice way to spend on a rainy day.

MARCH 23 -ANIMAL

These sheep were taken in Cornwall Park, where we frequently go for a walk. They are called Suffolk sheep, perhaps that is where they originate from.

BOOKS I LOVE

I am an avid reader and these are some of my beautiful books that I have collected. They are mainly books that give the white vintage look that I love.

SELF PORTRAIT

This is my first attempt at a self portrait. I have done self portraits before but I used a mirror to reflect. This time I used a ten second timer. I liked how in the top photo my cat Misty was very posed in the picture (I hadn't planned that, it was just good luck)

SISTERS

Today was a sad day as my sister was flying home to Perth after spending a week with me. We had such a good time and the week just flew by which is what seems to happen when you are having fun. Between the two of us we must have taken about 1500 photos. At night we would sit at our computers and help each other with learning more about photography and blogging. Phillipa has been blogging longer than me so her input was very helpful. So thanks sis, miss you already as I do when I leave any of my sisters and love you all lots and am proud to be the baby of four special sisters.

TIME WITH MY SISTER

A few days ago one of my sisters from Perth came to spend a week with me in New Zealand. It is very hot and dry in Perth with temperatures up in the 40's, so she was looking forward to seeing some greenery. My other two sisters are still in Australia so thought it would be nice to post some photos on my blog to show them what we have been up to. This above photo was in a shopping centre near the cafe we were in. So I thought it would be good to get out of our comfort zones and go up and stand in front of this rather nice model, and not be concerned with people walking past and looking at us.

On the first day my sister was here she came with me to watch me play netball. The girls were very friendly and she had lots of laughs watching me play. For visitors to my blog who don't know me I am in the green with the ball.

These two lovely photos of my sister were taken in our garage. I love my sister's tattoo of the feather.

My sister makes beautiful vintage jewellery and this is a beautiful piece she made for me.

The two of us having fun and doing a reflective photo.

I put my camera on sports mode to capture this picture.

I particularly like this photo of Phil.

These photos were taken at Cornwall Park. It is a beautiful working farm and we got to take lots of shots. We will go back tomorrow to take photo's of animals, so watch this space.

I loved the way the light was coming through the trees, even though we shot into the sun.

Phillipa engrossed in photos where there were some bumblebees.

I loved the way the sun was coming through these leaves.

These beautiful little toadstills were about two inches in height so I got down low and put my camera into macro to get this shot. I love how you can see the drops of water on the grass.

A touching moment of brothers.
