| This shot was taken around christmas time but I wanted to share it with you as it is a shot that is very Kiwiana. I have mentioned before that this is the beautiful Pohutakawa tree (commonly called New Zealand xmas tree as it flowers at xmas time) and you can see some very typical older houses below in the old suburb called Devonport. This hill has the most amazing views looking over to Auckland and it looks so close. The bridge in the background is the Auckland harbour bridge. |

| This tree is the beautiful Lilac tree. I love the shape of the flowers and the intensity of the colour. |
I remember the Pohutakawa's around the coastline past Opotiki at christmas time. The Purple really stands out against all the greens, so fresh and cooling when you are sitting in 40 degree's heat..
